Guangzhou is in Southern China and is strategically located along the banks of the Pearl River, close to Hong Kong and Macau. As a historically vibrant trading port, it is the gateway to South China. Guangzhou has a rising residential population of 14.5 million and an influx of global businesses establishing Asian headquarters there.
Transportation links in and out of Guangzhou are excellent, with Guangzhou's Baiyun International Airport being the third largest in China. The city is well equipped to host trade shows and exhibitions. The city has over 200 hotels, 23 of which are five star.
The English that is spoken in Guangzhou is minimal. It is always best to have an interpreter in your booth. English is more common in the best hotels. Cab drivers in the city are again not fluent in English, so it is advisable to carry the visiting card of the hotel you are staying along with other relevant travel information written down, so that you can travel easily.
